Titles: Rundown, Phoenix, Twisted
I was in a small forest a couple miles away from my house, and it gave off a bit of an oppressive vibe, and this was mostly due to all the harsh turns the branches surrounding me would take. There were a couple houses, as this was on the edge of the forest, and trying to take pictures without capturing them is a little hard. What I wanted to do was capture the oppressive feel I felt while out in those woods, and portray it through pictures of the most twisted branches. I chose these three particularly areas surrounding this tangled spot, because not only did they cut out houses, they showed me a lot of branch. Not to mention I found a really great painting to blend into the one picture.

These pine trees are in my backyard, but, again, are close to the edge of a forest. They feel really warm and welcoming, their needles aren't that sharp, and there's a patch underneath them where you can just curl up and be relatively safe from rain. These branches are protectors, and that's the main feeling I wanted to give off from my pictures, as well as in the composition. The painting I chose to mix it with was a little off for my meaning, but it was meant to represent cloudy skies and brighten up the trees as a safe haven. I have tried before, yes, and no rain gets through those branches.

This is a pond beyond my backyard's fence, and it is owned by both us and our neighbors. It's a peaceful place, and I used to come out here all the time to just calm down after I'd had a fit of anger and frustration as a kid, and just play with the water near the banks. There are geese here every spring-fall, as shown in the picture I used the painting with, and they just help with the peacefulness, animals always did it for me. The pictures were meant to capture how still and calm the pond was, and how it was a good spot to think. When it's not blistering hot or freezing cold of course.

Titles: Hideaway, Cyanide, Climbing Tree
This is in the forest just beyond the pond from the previous pictures, and I just had to include it because of how much it means to me. My brother and I used to have a hideout here, where we'd go to play games when we wanted to get out of the house and away from our parents. We often challenged each other to climb the tree, but we've since lost what we used to keep the records. I wanted to capture the playfulness of this place, and how many fond memories had been shared by brother and sister here when they needed somewhere to be. The painting was kind of random, all I knew was that I wanted stark contrast to my other choices.

This is a couple miles away from home in another small forest I hadn't been until today. I loved how chaotic everything was, you could barely take a step in there without being caught by something if you weren't careful. The last picture is the only one I could really capture the chaos in, just look at all those branches! If you duck down, you'll just get hit by more branches! I was just extremely excited by what I was seeing here.
